ASOS – Oversized Fit
The current streetwear trend to be working its way into our stores is the oversized fit, often paired with chunky sneakers it’s the opposite to a tailored fit in every sense of the way. I have always wanted to style a full fit in this way, after seeing the options offered on the ASOS store I took the plunge. My theme was grey and stone tones, as you can see from the imagery the shoot was successful in achieving that.
People generally find it difficult to style an oversized look, here are some pointers to help you take the plunge:
Don’t mix oversized and tailored items, the silhouette can often look awkward and unintentional. Slim fit or skinny jeans can work with the silhouette if you feel uncomfortable.
Try to stick to a colour palette and use contrasting textures, you can then use this as a basis for more adventurous options.
If you feel uncomfortable with the trend, try to go one size up with your clothing to achieve a similar aesthetic.
